There's tools for version 1 AOS archives, although some of them don't handle the 32-bit graphics. I was using a tool to reindex version 2 to version 1, but since that was excessively ghetto I wrote a proper tool for both.

The ABM format I find rather strange, since it has some unexplainable encoding that makes it extremely inefficient. Why would you ever encode the alpha data for individual colors of each pixel? Especially when you always have the same value for every color...
